Heiberg Cummings Design is an international design firm with offices in Oslo and New York. In the West Village showroom, you can find their branded candle line, gorgeous textiles, as well as samples from their beautiful furniture collection.
Heiberg Cummings Design has produced two books, Koselig and Modern Country and is eagerly awaiting the publication of their third book, White Light which documents the company’s history and pedagogy. Both Bernt Heiberg and William Cummings believe that contemporary design does not deal exclusively with the physical and that the object of design can be conceptual. The idea that a designer’s primary focus should be on the development of the concept or framework within which one works is the central premise of their technique. The physicality of the work is thus a product of the original concept. This technique they call Conceptual Design.
Heiberg Cummings Design was voted Top 10 Designers in the US by House & Garden in June 2012, featured exhibitor in the House & Garden Fair in London, published in Andrew Martin’s listing of the World’s Top Interior Designers (Volumes 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10) and named Europe’s Elite Top 1000 for luxury services.
